Get Tested is a confidential service where you can feel safe taking a test, getting a result and talking to us.

What is Confidentiality?

Confidentiality means not telling anyone else about anything you have said to us or about the information we have about you. Occasionally There may be exceptional circumstances when we are required by law to share your information - for example if we get information that suggests that you or another are at serious risk of harm, we may have to discuss this with other services in order to protect you.

Under 16?

If you are under 16, you still have the same rights to confidentiality as anyone else and you will be treated no differently.

Under 13?

If you are under 13, we are likely to be more worried about you having sex but you still have the same right to confidentiality.

Your Confidentiality if You Are Positive

Confidentiality is no different if you test positive unless we are completely unable to contact you to inform you of your infection.

In some instances we may not be able to contact you due to incorrect contact details. It is important that you regularly inform us of any changes to your contact details, especially new mobile phone numbers.

The Get Tested Policy is to try on 3 separate occasions a week apart to contact you. If we are unable to do this we will contact your registered GP so that they are able to treat you when you next visit them.
