If you suspect an unplanned pregnancy, confirm this with a pregnancy test before making a referral to the Unplanned Pregnancy Service
If you are pregnant, you have a number of options. The BPAS (British Pregnancy Advisory Service) website suggests ways you can think this through click here
You may wish to access private counselling, please be aware not all counselling services support the option of abortion; ask when you first make contact with them, alternatively contact our service for a referral for help with your decision.
If you want to become a parent, contact your GP or community midwife and book in for care.
If you are considering an Early Medical Abortion, call (01482) 336338 to self-refer, or visit conifer at Wilberforce medical centre. we will contact you and talk about your decision, and we may arrange an appointment to scan you. Referrals can also be through your GP or another doctor at your GP practice.
If you are not eligible for our service, we will advise you and signpost you to the correct service.
Hull Royal Infirmary’s Women’s Hospital provides medical procedures up to 9 weeks and surgical procedures to 12 weeks. Contact them directly on 01482 607843. Choices Clinic Conifer (9 weeks pregnant or under)
- Our counsellor is available to you at any point. The nurses will arrange this for you. We encourage counselling support and you can click Here for information
- All women are assessed for sexually transmitted Infection risk and may be encouraged to have a sexual health screen to avoid complications.
- Abortion care providers also discuss and provide all methods of contraception for after the procedure.
- If you have been a victim of assault we can arrange contact with police services if you wish. Click here for more information and local support services.
- If you have been a victim of domestic violence we can arrange specialist support. Click here for more information and local support services.
- We can make arrangements for interpreters and those with additional requirements
If you have a significant medical problem, your nurse will arrange contact with a senior clinician to tailor your care. This may influence the methods of termination available to you.
We can offer medical termination by the medical route (tablets). You can plan to take medication in the clinic and stay in the clinic or go home to pass the pregnancy.
