Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection that lasts sufficiently for satisfactory sexual activity.
It can affect men of all ages and can be linked with underlying conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and hormonal deficiency. It can lead to depression and cause relationship difficulties. Other factors which can lead to erectile dysfunction are smoking, alcohol, sedentary lifestyle and obesity.
We can also help you manage problems with premature ejaculation (ejaculation within 1 -2 minutes) or delayed ejaculation including inability to ejaculate.
How to access the service
Speak to your GP, practice nurse or specialist nurse who can refer you to the clinic for an appointment. We need some initial information from your GP as part of your overall assessment. You are welcome to contact us directly for any further information if you wish, prior to seeing your GP.
Don't suffer in silence, help is available.
If you feel that psychosexual therapy could help, we or your GP can refer you to RELATE. Alternatively you could find a private local therapist through the College of Sexual and Relationships Therapist website.
