Specialist Menopause


Women with the following symptoms can be referred into the service by their doctor or nurse.

  • Contraception in the perimenopause for women requiring HRT
  • Past or current history of venous thrombo embolism, cardiovascular disease, stroke, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, focal migraine with aura or current active liver disease
  • Poor symptom control after at least three different products have been tried

Symptoms of the menopause include:


  • Mood swings
  • Anxiety,irritability
  • Lethargy etc

Vasomotor symptoms:

  • Hot flushes
  • Night sweats

Urogenital symptoms

  • Urinary symptoms
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Low libido
