Mini Pill
The mini pill is a type of homonal contraception that's taken every day without a break.
It is a progestogen-only pill - progestogen is a hormone that works in a similar way to progesterone.
It cannot prevent STIs.
It’s over 99% effective if you use it correctly. If you miss a pill, it’s less effective.

Combined Pill
The combined contraceptive pill (also called the pill) is a type of hormonal contraception.
It contains the hormones oestrogen and progestogen.
It cannot prevent STIs.
It’s over 99% effective if you use it correctly. If you miss a pill, it’s less effective.

Contraceptive Patch
The patch is a small square patch that you wear on your skin.
It contains the hormones oestrogen and progestogen.
You need to replace your patch every 7 days.
It’s over 99% effective if you use it correctly.
